It’s the little (and pretty) things that make a wedding memorable. Pink lanterns and white fairly lights, sparkly wedding shoes, a pink cadallic…oh, and one of the world’s oldest full-size carousels for entertainment value (not so little!) Wedding planner extraordinaire, Tiffany Grant-Riley (of Grant-Riley Weddings fame!) invited me to take part in the first 1950’s ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’-themed wedding I had ever had the privilage to do so before. This was all about meticulous planning, and for those of you who don’t know me so well, this is something I revel in, so I instantly knew it was going to be great fun! It was the bride and groom’s wish to walk down the aisle to ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’, and it was therefore my task to create some gorgeous rainbow cupcakes in Rich red velvet and Virtuous vanilla; two of my favourite flavours which complement eachother so well. The themed colour scheme of the day based itself around 1950’s blues and pinks, so piped-coloured icing and sparkly glitter also featured; just for that extra je ne sais quoi!
