News from the Cake and Bake Show 2012

An exciting and memorable experience presenting at the first Cake and Bake show in London this weekend! Over 20,000 people surged through the doors of Earl’s Court exhibition centre, eyes ablaze with displays of stunning 8-tiered cakes, intricate sugar-craft skills, sweet smelling breads, layered tarts abundant with glazed fresh fruit and ofcourse, not forgetting cupcakes galore!

The guests for my show enjoyed a crash course in how to ice and decorate miniature fruits cakes with some fabulous new products from The Silver Spoon company. I also had the pleasure to spend some some of the weekend working alongside Eric Lanlard from Cake Boy fame. What a lovely guy, we had a ball!

And the most bizarre incident from the event? Two women fainting at the sight of Paul Hollywood…! I’m very relieved to confirm that no 999 calls were required for my audience!

If you struggled to find a ticket in time before the ‘big sell-out’, please don’t fear…there are talks of a second show in Manchester in April 2013. I hope to see you there!
